Happy Half Birthday Ethan!

Today is Ethan's half birthday and since he has a summer birthday they celebrate the half one at school. Today I took half donuts to school for his special birthday treat and he wanted me as his special show and share...awwwww!! After school his bff Madi came over to play. Then this afternoon I took just him and I to the library and then we went to The Coffee Cabin and had hot cocoa and chatted. Ya know, kindergarteners have a lot to say, LOL. Then...we took him out to dinner as a family to his choice, Perkins. And...he gets to stay up late(there's no school tomorrow) and watch The Brady Bunch. I'd say he had a pretty good half brithday! Happy Half Birthday buddy!

Seriously... *shaking head*

He never stops! Tonight I was making dinner and I thought if I filled a pot with some water and soap Abram could play in the bubbles while fully dressed next to me while I prepared dinner. He was having a blast so I said, "I'll be right back Abram, mommy's going to go check her email." I'm gone maybe 2 minutes when I hear Steven say, "Babe, GRAB THE CAMERA!!!" I'm thinking, "What now?!?!?!"
So, I run into the kitchen with my camera to find this...

So I ask him, "What are you doing?!?!?"
He says, "Taking a bath mommy :)"

He thought my dish towels needed cleaning too, and that nasty sponge...

Stop taking pictures of me!!!

He's going to give me a heart attack!

From down stairs I hear... (Madi's my neice)
Madi-"Abram! How did you get up there?"
Abram-"I climbed."
Madi-"All the way up there...by yourself?"
Abram-"Gah!!!"
So I run to get the camera and hightail it upstairs to find this...

Notice where his foot is and you still can't see the closet floor.

And this one, you can't even see his foot anymore but you can see the floor.

Oh and last night he fell tummy first down about 4 stairs and his chin hit everyone on the way down. We had blood and tears, this morning we had scabs and bruises.
Sheesh kid, slow down!!!

What a beautiful day it was.

Yesterday was a beautiful day at about 40 degrees. The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in sight. My sister and I decided to take our kids around Lake Alice and then back to my parents house to play in their yard covered in SNOW! Abram decided he didn't want to wear his snow gear like all the other kids so he was cold and wet. But when we got back to my parents house he played in their yard for about an hour with the other kids and didn't complain once! I am looking forward to SPRING!!! Yesterday was a teaser of what's to come :)

What was I thinkng?

For valentines day I bought each boy a placemat with erasable marker. They are having a great time with them but Abram seems to think he can mark up any old place he wants to, including MY TABLE!!! After the boys went to bed I came downstairs and about passed out when I saw this, but instead of running to clean it I took pictures first, LOL. Thankfully the markers wipe off very easily.

potty training day 14

SUCCESS!!! We have had 13 dry nights in a row and the last few days have been accident free other than when he peed on my neice's play kitchen because he thought he'd fall in my sister's toilet, LOL.
I told a friend last night that God only gives you what you can handle so he must think I'm a wimp. Potty training both my boys was a breeze!!!

He's a big boy now...

Well, last night was the end of the pacifire, aka Bob. We had one left and it had bite marks on the side big enough for Abram's entire thumb to fit in. Ethan decided it was time and just rip the end of it off. Abram was a little sad when he put it back in his mouth and there was only a half inch of Bob left. LOL He slept pretty well through the night without it.
Last night was also his first night in undies. We were still putting a diaper on him at night even though he was dry from night ONE!!! We had a dry night. I am so proud of him and really, truly can't believe that my 2 year and 3.5 month old son is potty trained. Where did the time go...?!?!?!

Here's a picture of my handsome boy with his BFF.

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing you all a happy Valentine's Day and lots of love. My wonderful hubby got me these beautiful flowers, I love them and him! :)
The boys got WAY too many good things from their Grandmom & Grandpop, Grammy, Grandpa Lloyd, the Hubert girls and Auntie Samantha. Thanks to all of you for making this day special for the boys too :)

Ethan's hair cut

Ethan was growing his hair out for the winter and decided he was done with that and wanted it buzzed off so we all went today and got hair cuts. He looks SO different.
Abram wasn't scheduled for one but begged to get his cut when we got there so she trimmed it up quickly.

Shhhh....

The other day Ethan was at Grandmom's house and Abram was watching tv. He was very quiet and when I went to check on him I found him like this, OUT like a light on the top, back of the couch.

Chocolate covered pretzels

Monday was a lazy, stay in our jammies kind of day and the kids wanted to bake. The best I could was chocolate covered pretzels. They loved it and had a great time.

Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame featured all of the moms. Under the flap were questions the kids had to answer about their moms. Ethan's read:
Your mom's name: Salena
Her age: 30
Her hair color: blackish
Eye color: brown
Her favorite food: Any food, she loves them all!
Her favorite thing to do with you: go to Burger King together.

Not bad, he did pretty well. Some of the answers were hillarious, some moms were 84, 64 and 7 years old.

The Hall of Fame

this is me, with the really short bangs, LOL.

Muffins for Mom

Ethan's class had Muffins for Mom today. It was so awesome to see all the moms there and the kids were great. They sang a few songs, told us why their mom is special to them, Ethan said, "My mommy is special because she takes me out to pizza" and then we had muffins and juice. It was very special.

Ethan singing a song to me where he had to wink.

Pointing to me during a song about his mommy.

an Abram funny

This morning we were all in our(mine and Steven's) bed and Abram turned on the radio to my alarm clock and it was a preacher speaking on marriage. We asked him to turned it off due to the content of the subject and Ethan said to him, "You don't even know who it is." And Abram says in a stern voice, "Yes, It's GOD!" We all laughed so hard. I told him although it's not God's voice he was hearing it was God speaking through this pastor so we could hear Him.

~Oh and we had another dry night!!!~

potty training day 4

Abram only had 1 accident today and when I found him he had taken his wet pants off and was cleaning himself up with a wipe. He was so casual about it. I hope we have another dry night. He told me last night that he didn't need to wear a diaper to bed because he was a big boy now that wore underwear, lol. Until the morning...

dirt flying, exhaust smelling and deafening revs

are all things that make my heart skip a beat! Tonight I took Ethan to an indoor arena to see motorcross races and oh my, it was AWESOME!!! I loved it more than Ethan did. All the noises, the smells, the excitment, it's almost as fun as the demolition derby at the county fair. I forgot my camera or else I would have pictures to show you. Even if I took my camera I still might not have pictures to show you because I was so into the races. I might be a girl but this was way better than any ballet! :)

potty training day 3

Yesterday Abram had 3 accidents with his daddy. When I got home he was dry the rest of the day with me and guess what folks....another dry night!!! I am so happy! He is doing great. Not much else to report right now. Have a great Saturday :)

Good morning~quick update

Good morning!!! Abram fell asleep last night around 7:15 in his undies so Steven slipped a diaper on him just to be sure and this morning Abram woke up with a DRY diaper!!! He had his good morning pee right away and he needed to GO! I am very excited for this little boy!

potty training day 2

I am happy to report only ONE accident today at about 12:15. He looked down and said, "I peed on the floor mom." I then asked him why and he said "I dunno?" Then I asked him where he SHOULD pee and he said, "The toitet." His grandmom bought him some new Elmo undies to add to the 15 pair he already has and he was SO excited that he changed his underwear after he trip to the bathroom. He would place the current pair back in the drawer and get a "new" pair. He changed underwear I think at least 10 times today. And many times throughout the day he would pull his underwear out and look in there and say "There's my penis!" like is was gonna leave him, LOL. He's just excited it's not layers beneath a wet soggy diaper anymore.
Oh and for those who dont know, Abram LOVES his jammies! He has many pair and he wears them everyday all day, yes even if we go out in public. Before you start throwing sticks at me...at least he is dressed, that's my theory! Well today after each underwear change he also changed his jammies. This kid is gonna kill out laundry bill, LOL. I will try to get pictures soon of all his jammies, he is too cute in them.
I hope day 3 goes as well as the first and second. Tomorrow I work so daddy will be home with him all day, we'll see how daddy does. :)

potty training day 1

and there were NO accidents!!! He pooped 3 times and peed 8 times. Each time he came to me and told me he had to go. I kept asking and reminding him and he did really well. Keep it up Abram! :)

Ingredients for potty training

A willing child-check

A fully prepared bathroom with all the necessary potty training items such as:

a potty ring-check
stool-check
many pairs of fresh underwear-check
books-check
rewards, in Abram's case Hershey kisses-check
baby wipes-check
Clorox wipes-check

So far so good. I keep asking if he needs to go potty and he keeps saying, "No mom." But when he does have to go he runs to tell me and we go in there together and he's done it every single time. I really wanted to wait until Spring, but he seems willing NOW! I will keep you posted on his progress.

Dog trainers

Ethan and Abram often play pretend dog trainer with Goldy. They act like the trainers and they want ME to come and buy him. Today I could buy a dog AND a kid, I said "no thanks" but Ethan insisted. He said it was the special in the weekly ad.

Then Abram was telling Goldy a secret of how they are going to have a better life with me, their new mom, instead of that mean trainer boy.

Snowball 2008

Last night I was able to help Katie, our wonderful babysitter get ready for the Snowball Dance. My sister and I did her makeup and I did her hair then I met her at her friends house to take pictures, I felt like the paparazzi, LOL. She is such a beautiful young lady, I felt honored to be apart of her special night! Thanks Katie!!!
