To end 2008, we leave you with this...

The best mullet wig ever...it has brought us more laughter than I thought any wig ever could. Here at the NessNest we like to laugh, be silly and have lots of fun! Oh but you'll never see *ME* in that wig...LOL :)
Happy New Year!

Our gingerbread house

The boys insisted that the house NOT look like the one on the box and I'm all for being creative. This was hand made with lots of love by the Ness Boys!

Winter fun!

Today Steven took Ethan snowboarding for the first time. They had an absolute blast. They came home tired, sore and hungry. Steven said Ethan had NO fear what so ever and enjoyed ever minute of their time together. I'm glad they had a great day. These pictures are from Steven's phone so they are smaller and the quality isn't that great but he didn't want to take *my* camera and break it..good idea :)

Ethan performs..again!

Ethan had a total of FOUR different Christmas performances this year. These pictures are from the big school play (grades 1-6, The Good News Cruise), from when his first grade class went to a local bank to perform and also from the last Chapel of 2008. After Chapel his class had their Christmas party. It was such a fun time. Can I just say how very thankful I am that I get to be a stay at home mom for 90% of my time and even if I was scheduled to work I could have gotten it off for something like this. I feel more than fortunate to be able to attend ALL of Ethan's performances.

Ethan LOVES to sing and perform!!!

On the Good News Cruise...

"They went to Aruba...a little south of Cuba..."

I just love this picture of his first grade classmates. Asleep on the hay...

coming into the bank, smiling of course!

hiding behind his box.
singing with all the passion of his heart.

Chapel-his first grade class with Mrs. Mitchell
there's that smile I love.
singing his heart out.

and us :)

Broen Home Christmas celebration

This year Ethan's first grade class got to go to the Broen Home(assisted living and elderly care) and sing Christmas songs. When they were done signing they got to meet and greet some of the residents. Ethan was very excited and shook as many hands as he could. The smile on the faces of the residents was priceless.
One thing I love about Ethan is his "ham-ness." As soon as he sees the camera he will stop and smile for me, even mid song, gotta love that :)

Of course, since Madi is home schooled she is allowed to go on field trips to see her bff perform..she wouldn't have missed it :)
And Grandmom came...
and Jeni... (and Papa)
Ethan and Julia
meeting the residents
look at that lady, she couldn't wait for Ethan to get to her.

and this cute couple sat like this the ENTIRE performance...I think he thought she was going to wheel herself out if he let go...

Orange Belt

Last week Ethan tested for his orange-stripe belt in Tae Kwon Do, but he has done such a great job that he got to SKIP the stripe and go straight to the solid orange belt. We were SO proud of him.
Way to go Bear!

Prairie Wetlands Christmas fun

One of the things I love most about where we live is the amount of things there are to do. You may remember in the summer when Grammy came to visit the fun we had on the Prairie then. Last Thursday The Prairie Wetlands had their Christmas fun. The kids loved every minute and were sad to leave early to get to another activity.

First there was bear rug snuggles...

then Christmas tattoos...

then ornament making...

then a yummy cup of hot cocoa and cookies,

and lastly snowmen making...
