What are you thankful for?

Each night at bed time before prayers we, as a family say what we are thankful for. We have been doing this since Abram was born and if we happen to forget as parents the boys quickly remind us. I just wanted to share some of Ethan and Abram's thankfulness's .<---is that even a word?
Abram always goes first. He's thankful for...mommy(and then he waits for me to say Awwww!), daddy(and he waits for an Awwww!), Ethan(waits...), Goldy(and now he wants Goldy to acknowledge him with a bark which usually is one of us so we can carry on or we could be there till dawn waiting for a Goldy bark!)...then he inserts a ton of silly things to us, but very meaningful to him such as: buttoning and zipping, his puppy, his tractor and he always ends with Jesus on the cross!!!
Then is Steven's turn, then mine and I am usually thankful the day is over and it's bed time and then Ethan closes us up. He is short and sweet, thankful for each one of his family members in the house(he doesn't need the Awwws) and one other thing...usually warm blankets, or his cozy bed, or full tummies and recently eggnog LOL.
This is something we love to do and a wonderful way to end our days. The boys love doing bedtime as a family and I'm thankful Steven does/helps with bedtime...ok so he does bedtime, not just helps without complaining.
Thanksgiving is only 9 days away...so what are YOU thankful for???

That's awesome that you guys do that with them what a tradition you started! I am thankful for a Christ, a wonderful family, the everyday comforts I usually take for granted a car, warm bed, food, etc,for health, and for the wonderful blessings God gives us each day in the sunrises, sunsets, blue sky's, rainbows or various other beauties in nature.

Thankful that I found the strength to file for divorce and start actually living life the way it should be for my children.

I am thankful for so many things. We do this too, but a bit more random like Elizabeth. I am thankful to be a stay at home mom. I am thankful for the freedom to educate our children at home and for a supportive husband, friends and extended family that still support me even though they think I'm nuts. I'm thankful for a loving Father in Heaven that provides every single good thing in my life. I'm thankful for the kindness and generosity of the people in my life....like YOU! Thanks for being not just my sister, but also my friend.

I'm thankful for Dreyer's Limited Edition Eggnog icecream, which would sound gross at any other time of the year. It's yummy! So Ethan, tell your mom to buy you some PRONTO! But really, I'm thankful for my family, my friends, and after witnessing these fires - my home more than ever. :)

What a wonderful way to wind down the day and to reflect positively on your life - can't ask for more than that!

I'm grateful for the strength and guidance from our Savior, Jesus Christ; our family's health and happiness; my loving, amazing husband who is a wonderful father; my wonderful friends who help me cope with life; and so much more!

I am looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving at the farm in ND with my siblings, my parents, my sister-in-laws and my niece and nephews. I'm gaining weight just thinking about all the yummy goodies I will indulge in! YIKES!!

I am thankful for my warm bed, my warm clothes, my warm house, my warm heat. I am thankful for my family, friends and especially my Heavenly Father who loves me and my family and watches over us. That is a great tradition. I am anxious just to get them to bed so I can enjoy the rest of my evening, but I am guessing bedtime goes a lot smoother when you do it that way. I need to try that with my family.

The list of things I am thankful for could strech on for miles. I am more blessed that I probably deserve. Today, most of all, I am thankful for my friends here who like me enough to include me in their fun and will come to my house to play Rock Band with me.

There are so many things to be thankful for but here are just a few: such a forgiving Christ, our families' health (Gabe cancer free for over 2 years now), our beautiful children, being able to live close to family, being able to stay at home full time with my kids, just to name a few.

What a beautiful nightly tradition. Your children are sure lucky to have you both as parents! They will grow up with attitudes of gratitude- a rare trait in our society.

That's awesome! I always ask Kyle what his favorite part of the day was, and what he's looking forward to the next day, but I will need to add this in! I am thankful for my family first and foremost... and then thankful that I have everything I need, and enough things I want.
